Joe
and Teresa Tucker began ministry at First Assembly of God, Thornton Texas in March of
1985. He is an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God and Circuit
Rider Christian Fellowship Ministries.
Twenty years of ministry has led this pastor to reach beyond the
traditional pulpit to minister to people who would ordinarily never attend a
church. His teaching and leadership has led his congregation
to open their hearts in love to all people from every walk of life. He
believes that church does not start until Christians leave their comfort zones
behind the four walls of their church building and go where people are
gathering. Pastor Tucker feels perfectly at home standing on a stage that
was used the night before by a drunken rock group and telling men and women
there is an antidote to the pain they feel in their hearts. He
attends biker rallies, camp outs, and other events in hopes of an opportunity to
share Jesus with people he loves. He
is very proud of his church family because of their desire to extend an open door
of ministry to all people.
Pastor
Tucker is a full support member of the Light Keepers Chapter of CRMM. He serves as a road captain as well
as spiritual covering of the chapter through his ordained ministry.
Joe
and his wife, Teresa, have two adult children... Sherri Kyle of Mexia, Texas and
Judy Barker of Thornton, Texas. They have three grandsons: Caleb Kyle,
Jacob Kyle, and Thomas Barker. Sherri Kyle and her husband, Delbert Kyle
are members of First Assembly of God in Mexia, Texas. Judy Barker and her
husband, Paul Barker are members of First Assembly of God in Thornton, Texas.
